This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a range of community settings and peoples’ homes, who provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work according to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. They may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Under mutual recognition, the Certificate qualification and Statement of Attainment awarded by AUIPT will be recognized by other RTOs Australia-wide. Upon successful completion of this course, students have a number of pathway options to study:
• An undergraduate degree at universities or higher education providers that are willing to accept your credentials and experience (subject to higher education providers course entry requirements).

Social Educator (Disability), Day Support Disability Officer, Marketing Coordinator (Disability), Local area coordinator, Social trainer, Disability Team Leader, Disabilities Supervisor, Project Officer, Disability Support Assistant (Schools), Job coordinator, Disability Service Officer, Senior Disability Worker, Lifestyle Support Officer, Senior Personal Care Assistant, Community Development Officer, Support Facilitator (Disability), Behavioural Support Officer.

Please note: All students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test (LLN) during orientation. Students who do not complete an LLN during orientation will be required to complete one before the course commences to ensure the program's suitability and assist AUIPT in identifying any additional support needed during their study.
Our RTO will be offering the following delivery structure:

Student must have completed at least 120 hours of work. The RTO work placement coordinator will assist to find a work placement.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL), current competencies (RCC) and Credit transfer process is available to all students prior to the course at pre-enrolment and is discussed again at the induction.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
Learners who believe they already have some of the competencies in the course may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Application may only be made after enrolment and must be made using the Application Form contained within the RPL kit.
Credit Transfer (CT)
“Learners who have completed units within their course at other institutions will be given recognition on presentation of a verified transcript, Award or Statement of Attainment. If application is successful and results in a shorter course duration, Australian Institute of Professional Technieque may amend and reissue a “CoE”.
Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support. Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support.
