This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Under mutual recognition, the Certificate qualification and Statement of Attainment awarded by AUIPT will be recognized by other RTOs Australia-wide. Upon successful completion of this course, students have a number of pathway options to study:
• An undergraduate degree at universities or higher education providers that are willing to accept your credentials and experience (subject to higher education providers course entry requirements).

Senior Personal Care Assistant, Care assistant, Accommodation Support Worker, Residential Support Worker, Community Access Coordinator, Community care worker, Community House Worker, Residential Care Worker, Food Services Deliverer, Transport Support Worker, In Home Respite Worker, Disability Service Officer, Care Worker, Client Assistant, School Support Officer (Disability), Family Support Worker, Care Service Employee, Planned activity assistant, Residential aide, Field Officer (Community Services), Nurse’s Aide, Home care assistant.

Please note: All students must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test (LLN) during orientation. Students who do not complete an LLN during orientation will be required to complete one before the course commences to ensure the program's suitability and assist AUIPT in identifying any additional support needed during their study.

Student must have completed at least 120 hours of work. The RTO work placement coordinator will assist to find a work placement.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL), current competencies (RCC) and Credit transfer process is available to all students prior to the course at pre-enrolment and is discussed again at the induction.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
Learners who believe they already have some of the competencies in the course may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Application may only be made after enrolment and must be made using the Application Form contained within the RPL kit.
Credit Transfer (CT)
“Learners who have completed units within their course at other institutions will be given recognition on presentation of a verified transcript, Award or Statement of Attainment. If application is successful and results in a shorter course duration, Australian Institute of Professional Technieque may amend and reissue a “CoE”.
Upon successful completion of all the required units of this course, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability). Students who do not complete all required units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability).
